Three Shopping Days Left

Ok, here we are again three shopping days left till Christmas. I have to admit that I am ready to throw in the towel, but there are still kids that we haven't finished shopping for. This year I really want to make it special for the kids.

I know that this year hasn't been easy. With ups and downs in the job department there has been a lot of stress that I'm sure the kids have felt. Add to that Janika being pregnant... with twins no less, and I know I haven't been as warm and loving as I should be.

This is the hardest part about combining a family. It's not that you love the other kids any less, or that you want anything different for them. But each child has different quirks, and that can take some getting used to.

I know it seems like I've deviated a bit from my previouse topic, but the truth is these two merge together nicely. I want for all of the children in my household to feel loved. Last year we didn't have any money, and everyone felt shafted. We are still far from wealthy this year, but we can have a nice Christmas. The hard part is balancing what one kid wants with what each child needs. Some things I am never going to buy. You will never see me buying D&D figurines and 20 sided dice. I am never going to buy trading cards Baseball, Pokemon, or any others. I want kids to have things that put them in the mainstream, not flushes them out of it. Things that increase their ability to relate to others not ones that suck them into a universe of inverted moral relativism and antisocial behavior.

That being said, I love this time of the year and unfortunately my attitude hasn't started to come into the season until the past couple of days. So to all my loved ones, thank you for making my life happier than it has ever been.

Good luck shopping for all those kiddos. 5 is tough enough especially when all my spouse does is shop for me and I do all the rest. And then there is one half of the toy and childrens clothes department I never get to shop. But I wouldn't change a thing. Merry Christmas!

It is the Saturday before Christmas and we have nearly everything we need for everyone. I enjoyed shopping with you, even though my feet are swollen and I move at a slow waddle. "You're a rock. You make me a better woman." --And a better shopper ;)

Yesterday I did learn that Janika is still a AA shopper, and not quite to my all-star status... That's ok, I'm gonna train my honey up right!
